System Development

Overview

Between the years of 2021 and 2023, we developed CadCow Portal, a specialized marketplace connecting professionals in the Architecture, Interior Design, and Engineering industries with firms seeking their expertise. Our objective was to create a platform that facilitates remote and hybrid collaborations, offering a more segmented alternative to broader freelance marketplaces like Upwork.

Challenges

  • Absence of Design Files and Limited Scope: The client did not have any design files and provided a limited scope of work.
  • Dual Currency and Payment Processing: Integrating two Stripe accounts to manage CAD and USD transactions while ensuring seamless operation was something that was not available in Stripe’s documentation.
  • Complex Subscription Models: Introducing both On-Demand and prepaid subscriptions required a robust system to handle diverse billing cycles and usage tracking.

Solutions & Features

Scope Creation

We created a comprehensive scope and all design files from scratch using Figma. This allowed us to visualize the project effectively and align the technical team with the client’s vision before jumping into the development.

Dual Stripe Integration

We developed a custom payment processing system that automatically directed transactions to the appropriate Stripe account based on the professional’s location, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Flexible Subscription Models

We designed a flexible subscription management system that accurately tracked usage, handled billing, and provided clear reporting to users.

  • On-Demand Subscription (hourly usage billed at the end of the month) & Prepaid Packages (Options ranging from 30 to 120 hours)

Functional UI Design

We worked on an intuitive and visually cohesive interface for seamless navigation. Also, we developed reusable UI elements to maintain consistency and ease future updates.
